With close to 50 years of experience, our firm is seasoned and ready to assist you in many parts of your legal circumstances. Gomez May was founded by Jorge Gomez Jr. alongside Ronald A. May in 1975, our firm evolved from modest beginnings into a prominent entity with eight attorneys serving both the Illinois and Iowa Quad Cities. Specializing in a wide array of legal disciplines, Gomez May has established itself as a pillar of the local legal landscape, renowned for its friendly and accessible approach.
The firm's journey began with a commitment to client-focused service and has since grown exponentially, nurturing long-standing relationships with a diverse clientele. Over the years, Gomez May has earned a reputation for handling complex real estate transactions with exceptional proficiency, averaging more than 3,000 transactions annually. Our in-house Abstract and Title Company further enhances our efficiency and reliability in this critical area of practice.
Our History
We began our journey in the legal world in 1975 when fresh University of Iowa College of Law graduates, Jorge Gomez Jr. and Ronald A. May decided to found their own legal firm in the heart of downtown Davenport, Iowa. Starting in what was no more than a closet in the Union Arcade Building with $2,000 in starting capital they built their way up.
Big or small, and no matter what area of the law, Ron and Jorge did not shy away from any case. From traffic violations and real estate to murder cases, Gomez May tackled whatever came our way to make a foothold in the legal industry.
Through showing and developing our skill in handling cases we have built a reputation in the legal sphere of the Quad Cities area. Our acumen in many forms of law have helped our firm go from a broom closet in the Union Arcade building to a distinguished and decorated firm as well as a pillar in the community.
From humble beginnings we have progressed far above what Ronald May and Jorge Gomez Jr. ever thought would happen. From taking any and all cases to handling over 3,000 real estate closings a year, handling close to $1,000,000 in trusts, multiple $1,000,000 personal injury cases, and much more. Our journey over the past 50 years has not been easy, but we have grown from every second of it.
